"Special Type" Orphanage |

Starting from October 23rd, 1967 # 245 basic creche - kindergarten of Yerevan state university of pedagogy after Kh. Abovyan had been operating, which has changed into the Special type orphanage since 1999. Approximately 103 children, abandoned by their parents, as well as children with mental and physical difficulties can inhabit in the orphanage. The latter carries out medical-retrieval and social-psychological activities, stands for the defense of the children's human rights, meets their material and social and educational needs, organizes studies, medical support and transformation to other children's organizations, as well as implements social-psychological activities to bring the child into family. A multi-skilled team is operating within the orphanage, which includes a vice- headmaster, a social worker, a psychologist, a speech therapist, a doctor, a senior pedagogue, tutors, which consider each child's case separately and design an individual curriculum of improvement.
